Demonology 101: the Felguard
Meet the bad boy of Warlock pets, the Felguard. This 41-point Demonology talent is the favorite pet of many Warlocks — and I have to confess, after speccing Demonology in the Wrath Beta — I kind of like him a lot, too. He’s tough, he dishes out some hurt, and he can stun opponents every thirty seconds. It was also originally the only demon with Avoidance, but the passive ability was buffed and handed out to all demons in Wrath or Patch 3.0.
When solo, the Felguard makes a great tank, although it loses out to the Voidwalker in terms of armor and health. However, Anguish and a higher DPS makes it generate more threat, allowing it to hold aggro better. Having Demonic Frenzy means that the Felguard gets stronger and stronger (up to 50%) with each damaging attack, and Cleave is a basic attack that can hit multiple opponents — although care needs to be taken when used in PvE as Cleave can break crowd control. You should key bind Intercept as it can interrupt spellcasting, although it has a minimum 8 yard range so stunning its current target can sometimes be tricky. Think of a Felguard as Warrior lite.
There’s the basic Fel Vitality, a mandatory talent for deep Demonology. Then there’s Unholy Power for that 20% DPS boost, and of course

Around Azeroth: Full moon fever
Are you one of the people desperately longing to get into the Wrath beta? Well, keep in mind one thing — it’s a beta, not a way to play Wrath early and free (listen up, complainers of Howling Fjord general chat!) That means lag, bugs, and crashes. This particular crash brought down the whole continent of Northrend and left the death knight Stoker stranded in mid-air when his zeppelin disappeared. Apparently, Stoker was stuck there through the sunset and late into the night, unable to use his hearthstone or the unstuck command. He finally found a friendly warlock to summon him back to reality. In the meantime, I bet he got to know his ghoul’s personal history really well.
This image came to us straight from the Wrath of the Lich King beta — and we’d love to have your beta screenshots, too! If you have anything our readers might like, beta or not, sharing it is as simple as e-mailing with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing — use alt-Z to remove it. No more battleground scoreboards, please.

World of Warcraft comic hardcover collection reviewed
Well, I admit it: I’ve been reading the World of Warcraft comic (I’m up to issue ten) and enjoying it as a light bit of fantasy fare with lots of nice nods to the lore of the game. It’s not trying to be more than that, I don’t think, perhaps wanting to leave some room for this Wednesday’s Ashbringer comic. However, it was news to me that there’s a hardcover collection of the series out. Of course, where I fail, the folks at Blizzplanet succeed in not only knowing it was out, but in giving it an in-depth review.
The review is positive, and the special goodies of concept sketches, Blizzcon exclusive issues and what sounds like a solid layout and design make me seriously consider saving my gold (I need real life daily quests) to pick this up. Feel free to head over to Blizzplanet and see if you agree with that sentiment.

Level One
The class abilities the Druid starts with at level 1 are Wrath and Healing Touch. You’ll find icons for them already on your button bar.
Wrath is a ranged spell that deals nature-based damage to targets up to 30 yards away.
Healing Touch is a healing spell that you can cast either on yourself, or on another friendly character up to 40 yards away.
Both Wrath and Healing Touch take 1.5 seconds to cast.
If you are trying to cast and you’re taking damage, your spell will be ‘interrupted’, prolonging the casting time. So word to the wise, once the bad guys are in your face, it will take you much longer to get each spell off than the base 1.5 seconds. And that time spent casting is time not spent dealing damage or healing yourself.
For your first few levels, the strategy I recommend is, in effect, to select your target and blast away with Wrath.
Wait, wait, let’s not get the noose out to lynch me just yet. There is a bit more to it than that.
First, select any enemy by right-clicking on them.
Note: Right-clicking with your mouse on a target activates auto-attack; when your enemy reaches melee range, you will automatically begin attacking with your equipped weapon. Left-clicking will select a target for you, but will not activate auto-attack. An important

Insider Trader: Popular enchants and where to get them
Insider Trader is your inside line on making, selling, buying and using player-made products.
If you’ve ever spent any time sitting in trade chat, you could probably make a list of some of the most popular enchants. Requested frequently, any enchanter possessing the the knowledge to imbue a weapon or piece of armor with the proper stats stands to make a fair amount of gold.
For example, a healer seeking Major Healing, or a meleer seeking Mongoose, will know the materials, and gather them. Each time they replace their respective weapons, back into trade they will go to request the enchant.
Today, Insider Trader presents a list of some of the most requested enchants with information about how to obtain them so that you can offer them to friends, guildmates, and your server.
It is by no means a complete list, but it will get you off to a shining start and provide you with quite a to-do list. Check out the comments section for helpful details as well.
Drop rate data was gathered from the Armory, and Blizzard uses ranges such as Very Low (1-2%). This is narrowed down with data from Wowhead where appropriate, but keep in mind that some bind on pick-up recipes can only be seen by enchanters, and Wowhead cannot filter out

Passive buffs for gatherers
We’ve seen some interesting things come out of the Wrath beta already for some of the crafting professions, including Jewelcrafting, Alchemy, Enchanting, and the new Inscription. But what about us humble gatherers? Skinners, Herbalists, and Miners need love too. Well, it looks like Blizz is ready to give us some of that love, at least for Skinners and Miners. Check out the following spells:
· Toughness (categorized under Mining)
· Master of Anatomy (categorized under Skinning)
Note that those buffs are passive. 35 stam all the time for all grand master miners, and 25 crit rating for grand master skinners. Each of those abilities have six ranks, which I take to correspond to the six ranks of profession skill: apprentice, journeyman, expert, artisan, master, and the new grand master.
This is awesome stuff, if you ask me. My analysis is that these benefits are meant to stand in for the epic BoP items that the production professions get access to. Why there is no benefit for herbalism is something of a mystery; it might not be implemented yet, or it might be absent on purpose. Natalie pointed out that it might be because several herbs

Blood tree
For the most part, Blood has remained the most solidly defined and polished tree in the Beta. It has found a perfet niche as a focused single target DPS tree with tons of self-sustainability and a surprising amount of decent tanking skills. Forceful Deflection, which gives +25% of strength as parry rating, has been removed and made baseline, but there’s plenty of other skills to compensate, including Blade Barrier, which has moved from Tier 6 to Tier 1.
A Death Knight tank may want to strongly consider taking a bit of Blood for skills like Blade Barrier, Bladed Armor (now Tier 2, but still a nice way to make AP and armor interact and scale), Rune Tap, and Improved Rune Tap (which now reduces Rune Tap’s cooldown in addition to providing more health, and should be easier to use because of the Blood Rune freed up by the new, cheaper Plague Strike). Even a deep Blood Death Knight should be a good tank, in part because of the new talent, Vampiric Blood, which increases all healing recieved by 60% when all Blood runes are on cooldown, even heals from outside sources.
Death Rune Mastery’s new function looks like it could be useful: Whenever you use a Death Strike, the Unholy and Frost rune will turn into a death rune next time they activate. Of course, first thing one

Goon World Interview
WarCry: Please introduce yourself and your role at Nemesis Studios. (If more than one person, introduce all!)
Justin J. Gaughan: I am the president of Nemesis Studios Entertainment, and
the original visionary behind Goon World: Organized Crime Online. My duties include, but are not limited to, marketing, business relations, business development, and overlooking the entire project from every angle necessary.
Bart Wiltenburg: I’m the lead character artist for Goon World: Organized
Crime Online. Justin came into contact with me after seeing my previous work on the MMO: The Chronicles of Spellborn. Being familiar with a cartoon style and bringing in experience, it’s my duty to make sure the character team makes the characters of Goon World come to life and fit into the style envisioned by Justin.
Ibrahim S. Amin: I’m the lead creative writer for Goon World. Writing for a
successful videogame project has been a goal of mine for a long time. Goon World immediately caught my attention with its unique style and lavish concept art.
I’m also the lead game designer, though the entire company contributes to that side of things. One of the great strengths of indie projects like ours is that everyone’s input is valued, and the game benefits from the best ideas

World of Warcraft: Bestiary Update
The latest critter from the upcoming WoW expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, has made its debut. Called the ‘magnataur’, it’s a frightening looking beast.
Magnataur have the torso of a giant attached to the body of a mammoth. This peculiar appearance has sparked speculation that their race might be related to centaur or even keepers of the grove. Many wonder if these races share a common ancestor, and some have even suggested Cenarius himself.
The notoriously long-lived magnataur are rumored to engage in cannibalism during times when food is scarce. Single males are known to control giant herds and produce sizable litters, but in the frigid, perilous wastes at the roof of the world, only the strongest and meanest survive.
Despite their hostility to most races, the magnataur have become tolerant of the arctic kobolds, who follow the herds for safety and mutual benefit during long hunts. Although the redoubtable magnataur lead solitary lives, adventurers who cross paths with them quickly learn that it would have been wiser to stay at a safe distance.

The line to get into the World of Warcraft session at Comic-Con wrapped all the way around the hall and doubled back a couple of times. After that, there was no more room; the line was “closed,” half an hour before the session even started. Hundreds of people, or more, were turned away. Wrapping around the floor of the convention center was a line of people waiting in line just to be told that they couldn’t wait in line to see WoW.
The popularity of the WoW panel at Comic-Con underscores just how big and far-reaching this license is. Not surprise, then, that multiple companies are snapping up opportunities to bring Warcraft outside of the PC and into other art forms. The occasional novel or comic has always been a part of the Warcraft lore, and recent years saw the debut of the trading card game, but an explosion of related products is on the horizon.
The panel contained representatives from Upper Deck (producers of the collectible card game as well as the upcoming miniatures game), Tokyo Pop and Wild Storm (which publish the WoW comics), and DC Comics Unlimited (which is releasing a series of figures). Also sitting on the panel were representatives from Blizzard, including creative mastermind Chris Metzen. The crew from Blizzard was there to underscore the company’s
